Karkala: Annual Feast at St Lawrence Pilgrimage Centre Begins

Karkala, Jan 26: The annual feast of the famous St Lawrence shrine at Attur began here on Monday January 26. 

This year’s message for the annual feast at the shrine will be ‘You will bear my witnesses’. 



Mangalore Mudipu Blessed Joseph Vaz parish priest Fr Andrew D’Souza offered a special Holy Mass along with guest priests at 3.30 pm, for the sick and ailing.

Holy Masses in Kannada will be offered at 9.30 am, 11.30 am, and 1.30 pm on Tuesday January 27, besides Konkani masses at 3.00 pm, 4.30 pm, 8.00 pm, 10.00 pm and 12.00 am on Wednesday January 28.

Bellary Bishop Dr Henry D’Souza will offer festal Eucharistic Mass in Konkani at 6.00 pm on Tuesday.

A video presentation on the beginning of devotion to St Lawrence in Attur and its surrounding villages will be shown at 2.00 am on Wednesday.

Holy Masses in Kannada will be offered at 5.30 am and 8.30 pm on Wednesday while Holy Masses in Konkani will be offered at 7.00 am, 8.30 am, 12.30 pm, 2.00 pm, 3.30 pm, 5.00 pm, 7.00 pm, 10.00 pm and 11.30 pm.

Honorary candles will be presented to the sponsors of annual feast at 10.00 am on Wednesday.

On the feast of Mother Mary on Thursday January 29, Holy Masses in Konkani will be offered at 6.30 am, 8.00 am and 5.30 pm while Holy Masses in Kannada will be offered at 12.30 pm, 2.30 pm, and 4.00 pm. 

Thousands of faithful without distinction of caste, creed, and religion, from all over the country and abroad, throng St Lawrence Pilgrimage Centre especially during the annual feast seeking the miraculous saint to grant them favours, graces, and solace.
