Mangalore: Traffic on NH 17 Affected after Truck Accident

Mangalore, Jan 26: After a truck carrying sand overturned on national highway 17 near Mangalpady Kukkar bridge between Manjeshwar and Kasargod on Sunday January 25, traffic on the national highway came to a standstill for about three hours.

The driver lost control of the vehicle as the vehicle approached the bridge, as a result of which the lorry landed upside down with its wheels pointing towards the sky.  The driver and cleaner ran away from the scene.

Eye witnesses said that rash driving on the part of the driver was the reason for the accident.  After some time, the policemen arrived and diverted vehicles through Bandyodu, Adka, Paivalike route. A crane was summoned to move the truck aside threafter.
