Bengaluru: Rs 1 crore grant for Konkani, Tulu and Kodava movies in budget

Bengaluru, Feb 9: A special gift was given for movies of regional languages in the state budget presented on Friday, February 9 by chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.

Movies of regional languages have been attracting lots of viewers these days. So the government has taken a step to encourage them. The state government has planned to draft a special programme to encourage the regional language movies and has provided a grant of Rs 1 crore for the purpose in the budget for the year 2019-20.

The main aim of the government through this grant is to bring the regional language movies to the mainstream of the movie industry of the state.
