Udupi: Need for Special Schemes to Rehabilitate Handicaps Stressed

Udupi, Jan 23: The tenth annual celebrations of Manipal College of Allied Health Sciences were held at Hotel Valley View Manipal recently.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr P Hanumant Rao, president, 'Sweekar', Handicaps Rehabilitation Institute, Secunderabad, said that Manipal University is an autonomous and financially sound institution and felt, it must further work for the rehabilitation of the disabled.

The Allied Health Sciences have recently provided many job opportunities and importance has to be given to conducting of research in this field, said Dr P L N Rao, retired dean, KMC.

Dr Ramdas M Pai, chancellor, Manipal University presided over the function.

Dr Ramdas M Pai and Dr P Hanumant Rao conferred degrees to the students of Allied Health Science.

Vipul Chawla and Sunag Kandra, old students were felicitated on the occasion.

Dr M V Kamat, honorary director, Manipal Institute of Communications, Dr Raj P Warrier, vice-chancellor, Manipal University, Vinod Bhat, registrar, Manipal University, G K Prabhu and Arun Mayya were present on the occasion.
