Mangalore: 'Matsya Mela' in City From Feb 13 to 15

Mangalore, Jan, 22: The three-day 'Matsya Mela' will be held at Nehru Maidan here from Friday February 13 to Sunday February 15.
Mangalore Fisheries College dean Y Basavaraj informed, that the Mela, which will be showcasing nutritious, tasty and traditional fish delicacies of Tulunadu, will aim at popularizing sea food. The Mela will also lay emphasis on other possibilities of fish besides being good food, like decorative and medicinal attributes besides its potential for business and development of fisheries technology, he explained.
The Mela will cover everything from the simplest food items made from fish, to the internationally renowned fisheries technologies.
The president of National Fish Development Corporation and World Food Award winners will participate on the occasion.
Later various cultural programmes will be staged at the venue, he explained.
