Puttur, Jan 22: The BJP is committed to the implementation of 33% reservation for women in Loksabha and other bodies, as it feels it is the fundamental right of the women, said D V Sadanand Gowda, state president of the BJP,  speaking after inaugurating the training session of the Women's Morcha of the party  at Puttur on Tuesday January 20.

The BJP has been insisting for the implementation of the said reservation in all the bodies including organizations and associations so that interested women do not find it hard to serve the country through political sector. If various parties show political will to implement the reservation, it is not difficult, he commented. On the issue of the trouble raked up by Shiv Sena, he stressed that the government will not be compromising on any issues concerning the sovereignty, self-respect, land and water rights of the state.

"The people should not nurture any animosity or hatred against people belonging to other states, nor should they treat the non-Kannadigas shabbily. At the same time, it is the responsibility of every citizen to protect land, water and culture of the land," he explained.
