Udupi: Moily Charges BJP of Following Policies Aimed at Dividing Country

Udupi, Jan 21: Chairman of the Central Administrative Reforms Commission M Veerappa Moily came down heavily on the BJP which is heading the government in the state, charging it with following policies aimed at splitting the country on the basis of caste, religion and faiths. "The BJP came to power by misleading the youth through ulterior practices and once there, it is trying to demolish the very fundamentals of democracy," he alleged.

Moily was speaking after inaugurating a mega Congress family get-together organized on Tuesday January 20 at Buntara Bhavan Hebri. Speaking further, he claimed that the Congress has always stood for values and tirelessly aiming at achieving the welfare of the people without craving for power. He therefore, wanted the party to be supported and strengthened at village level.

"Schemes like irrigation, horticulture, rural electrification and employment guarantee have been benefitting the rural masses, as  the union government formulated them with their interests in mind," he reminded those present.

North Block Congress president Prasanna Ballal who presided, called upon the Congress workers to strengthen the organizational framework of the party for the overall development of the state through serving the masses.

Ex speaker B L Shankar, Congress district president M A Gafoor, MLA Gopal Bhandary, ex-MLA Jayprakash Hegde, taluk Congress president Aveline Louis, taluk panchayat members Manjunat Poojary, Chandrashekhar Hegde etc., were present.

MLA H Gopal Bhandary welcomed. Mohandas Nayak proposed vote of thanks.
