Bangalore: Belgaum Session Aimed at Assisting Shiv Sena and MES - Shivkumar

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Jan 20: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president D K Shivkumar opined, that the BJP government had arranged for the special legislature session to be held  in Begaum to assist its partners Shiv Sena and  Maharashtra Ekikarana Samiti to boost their popularity and images.

Speaking to newsmen here on Sunday January 18, Kumar charged the chief minister with not having the agenda of the north Karantaka in his mind while organizing the said session. To strengthen his allegation, Shiv Kumar cited that the Governor's address in the session did not spell out any concrete plans for the growth of north Karnataka.

He also cited that Shiv Sena Leader Ramdas Kadam while addressing the Shiv Sena and MES activists in Belgaum, had passed derogatory comments against Kannada and Karnataka. However, let alone arresting him, the chief minister has failed even to condemn this action, he explained. He also said that the Congress would try to move an adjournment motion seeking an inquiry into the affairs of the mining company in which one of the state ministers is a director, which is facing charges of transgressing the state's border, as mentioned in the Lokayukta's report on mining scam.

He criticized the government for dragging the name of Swami Vivekananda in its students programme against terrorism, in an attempt to try to project the spiritual leader as its own.
