Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jan 18:  A mythological play, 'Ekalavya' based on a story from the epic 'Mahabharata' was enacted by the special children of  'Saannidhya', s chool for the special children located in Bikkarnakatte in the city, on Friday January 16.

The play was a part of the cultural programmes presented by Mallika Kalavrunda at Kadri Lord Manjunatheshwara Temple here, on the occasion of the annual festival of the temple. The story of 'Ekalavya' who baffled Guru Dronacharya with his abilities to excel at archery without being personally trained by anyone but out of sheer grit and devotion towards learning the skills and treating a statue of Dronacharya as his coach, is well known. The story was apt to the occasion and the children performed excellently, beyond the expectations of the crowd.

Opportunities like these go a long way in honing the skills of the children and boosting their confidence levels.
