Beltangady: People Show United Might : Construct a Key Bridge

Daijiworld Media Network -Beltangady (SN/SP)

Beltangady, Jan 16: The residents of Inchlampady village near Nellyadi have successfully constructed a bridge that shortens the distance between Dharmastala and Subramanya considerably.

This bridge, built across Gundya lake, saves a distance of 20 kilometres between Dharmastala to Subramanya, two popular pilgrimage centres of the district.

Normally the vehicles have to move from Dharmastala to Subramanya, via Gundya lake, and this bridge facilitates movement of vehicles and people through Periyashanti - Ichilampady via Nujibaltila to Mardala and then Subramanya.

As the construction of the bridge, taken up by the government is progressing at a snail's pace, the people here came together and put together efforts to build a temporary bridge by the side of the spot where a permanent bridge is to come up.

The strong bridge now built by the  public has also space for laying of pipes.

Congratulations to all the people involved....UNITY IS  STRENGTH. We got independence in 1947, but until now few places in interiour Belthangady Taluk are  accessable during rainy season. Government is not at all taking any steps to provide good roads to the people. Dharmastala to Subramanya road is a very nice place to travel with natural habitat....yet to be developed..

It is great to note the people power. If people get together they can do wonders. The work can be done according to our liking, good quality with low cost.
