Bangalore: Accident near Kunigal on NH 48: Three Software Engineers Killed

Bangalore, Jan 16: In an accident that occurred on national highway 48 near Narayanipalya, Kunigal on Thursday January 15, three software engineers died after the car in which they were travelling was hit by a truck loaded with sand.

A truck loaded with sand, which was reportedly being driven carelessly and at great speed, was trying to overtake a truck that had been parked by the roadside, when it rammed into a car coming from the direction of Bangalore. Software engineers Gururaj (25) and Basavaraj Togasi (25) who were going to Hassan to take part in a programme being held in Malnad Engineering College there, died on the spot. Pramod (27), who was in the car and critically injured in the accident, died on the way to a hospital in Nelamangala.

All the three were from near Davangere and worked in a firm on Hosur Road here.

The accident caused chronic road block at the spot. Policemen from the nearby Kudoor police station came on the scene and cleared the road.
