Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jan 16: The immigration officials who found that two of the passengers trying to board the Air India's Dubai flight on the evening of Wednesday 14 from the local airport were holding passports which did not belong them, arrested them and handed them over to the Bajpe police station officials.

Pais Mathew (39) from Nileshwar Kasargod from Kerala and Prakash Rao (26) from Belloradka Kasargod were trying to board the Duba-bound plane by using passports belonging to others, when the fraud was detected. The immigration officials who grew suspicious of the genuiness of the passports presented, subjected the passports to scrutiny through specialized equipment and found out the truth.

Pais Mathew had pasted his own photogrph on the passport that originally belonged to Kasargod Kunnaruvat Achuthan Vinod Kumar while Prakash Rao had replaced the photo in the passport of Madikeri Meenikare Moidin Kutty Irahim.

Investigations are on.

Salutations to the stalwarts : The Immigration Officers alertness, skill, intelligence and quick thinking/action detected the culprits: their acts need to be suitably rewarded, to give encouragement and incentive to all the Immigration Officers in the country.. This will contribute towards curbing terrorism too in the long run!! Great work- Keep it up!!
