Puttur, Jan 16: The sudden volte-face of the honorary president of Swabhimani Vedike Ram Bhat, sighting breach of mutual agreement by local BJP leaders,  has caused tension in the BJP camp. In order to convince the disgruntled leader of the Swabhimani Vedike, to explain him the position and clear the air of misunderstandings , Dr V S Acharya visited  Bhat's house in Urimajalu at night on Wednesday January 14.

This is said to also be a process agreed upon earlier, to implement the second phase of the understandings reached between the two parties.

D V Sadanand Gowda, state president, BJP, also accompanied Dr Acharya, on his visit at Urimajalu.

Only a handful of police officials accompanied minister  Dr Acharya during this visit. He even avoided using official transport on the occasion. The meeting was held at night and it is learnt, that both the sides have decided not to reveal the details of discussions held for the present. Media was denied access. It is however, gathered that the BJP leaders succeeded in convincing Bhat that the party is not trying to violate the terms of the mutual agreement.

This meeting is stated to be the final meeting between the two sides, paving way for a smooth merger. With this meeting, the points of agreement reached between the leaders of the Sangh Parivar with the Swabhimani Vedike reportedly have been implemented. Now it is left for the BJP to implement certain points that were agreed into and pave way for Swabhimane Vedike's smooth merger with itself. It is expected, that the Sangh Parivar will soon conduct a meeting of the leaders of both the sides to help the Vedike to merge with the BJP without any hiccups.
