Mangalore: Youth Arrested with Stolen Vehicles

Mangalore, Jan 15: Personnel of the local Barke police station have arrested a person who was allegedly engaged with the theft of vehicles and seized five motor bikes and an auto rickshaw from him on Tuesday January 13.
 
The accused arrested has been identified as Mohammad Yaseen (20), a resident of Kammaje near Kinnigoli in the taluk, from near Ballalbagh in the city when he was to trying steal a motor bike.



Barke police sub-inspector Jayanth said bike riding has been the passion of the accused. He has been working under a contractor in the city, he revealed.

Yaseen managed to take away the motor bikes found parked in public parking slots without hand brakes. He would then start the engine by joining two wires in place of the ignition key.
 
The market value of the bikes and the auto rickshaw seized by the policemen is estimated to be around two lac rupees. The places from where the thief took away the vehicles fall within the jurisdictions of Mangalore North, South, East and Barke police stations.
