Mangalore: FISHCO Festival from Jan 9

Mangalore, Jan 7: College of Fisheries here will organize FISHCO Festival-2009, a three-day inter-collegiate competition at its auditorium on January 9, 10 and 11.
Briefing media persons at the Press Club here on Wednesday January 7, Dean Dr Basavaraju said Prof S Honnapagol, vice-chancellor, Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) Bidar will inaugurate the festival. Cine director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar will be the chief guest, while members, Board of Management of KVAFSU, Monappa Karkera, and Dr HT Mohankumar will the guests of honour.
He informed that various research and developmental projects under the Rastreeya Krishi Vikas Yojana will also be launched on the occasion. A sum of Rs 1,011.92 lac has been sanctioned to the KVAFSU for various projects spread over a period of three years, he divulged.
Staff advisor Ganesh, Dr Raju Basava Gowda and Prabhu Bolar were present at the press meet.
