Udupi: Rotary Shankarapura Organizes Free Mental Health Camp

Udupi, Jan 6: Rotary Shankarapura organized a free mental health check up camp at their community building here, recently. 
 
The camp was sponsored by Emirates Pangalites UAE. Its president Jovin D Souza, Paul Quadros and members of both the organizations graced the occasion.



Rotary Shankarapura president Dr Edward Lobo, in his welcome address, gave a brief account of the organization's social service activities and explained the significance of the monthly mental health check up camps being organized by the Rotary.  He elaborated that the number of patients who availed of the services of the camp has gone up from 15 to 20 in the beginning to 90 to 100 at present.  Monthly requirement of medicines were also being distributed to the patients free of cost with the generous contributions from the locals and NRIs, he revealed. 
 
Emirates Pangalites UAE president Jovin D Souza appreciated the activities of the Rotary especially the conducting of the free mental health check up camps and assured his full support for its ongoing success. 

Paul Quadros was prompt in his response by making a donation on the spot for the cause.

These camps were attended and guided by the undivided Dakshina Kannada district psychiatrists Dr P V Bhandary, Mangalore, K S Hegde Medical College Hospital Dr Srinivas Bhat and Dr Rohan Mendonca of Father Muller Medical College.
