Mangalore: Police Identifiy Unauthorized Boats in City Port

Mangalore, Jan 5: Two unauthorized boats were found during the inspection conducted at the fishing port of the city by the policemen on Sunday January 4.

They found that two boats belonging to Kerala had unauthorizedly been operating in the port here. Boats from other states are not permitted to enter the Mangalore port territory at any cost, and the owners of such boats risk facing legal action, warned Manjunat, Bunder police station sub-inspector.

It was noticed, that some of the fishermen were not carrying the identity cards  they need to be in possession at all times, during the inspection. The fisherman belonging to the state and elsewhere must carry the identity cards during fishing without fail, he said.

The inspection was conducted under the guidance of N Satish Kumar, superintendent of police, by the personnel of Bunder police station here. The police personnel of that station along with the District Crime Intelligence Bureau staff conducted this joint inspection.
