Kundapur: Mandarti Mela Staged at Religious Conference

Kundapur, Jan 5: The Mandarti four Yakshagana Mela was held at Balkoor Badtimakki of Kundapur here recently.  

The Mela was organized by Kastashilpi Gopalacharya at the religious conference.

Delivering the benedictory speech Shri Kalahastendra Swamiji of Anegundi Mahasamstan Pita said “The Vishwakarmas have contributed immensely in protecting the rich art and culture of our country.  The art lovers must encourage in safeguarding the rich heritage of Yakshagana and preserve its values for posterity”. 

He further added that apart from entertaining Yakshagana highlights the culture, heritage and history of Hindu religion.

Sri Lakshmivara Teerta Swamiji of Shiroor Math who also spoke on the occasion recalled the cordial relationship maintained by Vishwakarmas with Udupi.

Presiding over the function Managing Editor of Taranga Weekly Sandhya S Pai stated that the world we live in is nothing but a reflection of its people.  We get from the society more than what we contribute towards it.  The nature and the world at large respond to every single contribution of the people, she added.

Businessman Manohar Shetty and Anuradha M Shetty and Dr G P Shetty were the chief guests on the occasion.

Sri Lakshmivara Teerta Swamiji felicitated members of Mandarti Mela  K P Hegde, orator,  Kigga Heriyanna Achar, Subramanya Achar Nagar and Venkat Rao Bhat on the occaasion.

Gopala Acharya delivered the key note address.  Dr Raviraj Shetty, co-ordinated the programme.

Prof Ramaraya Acharya welcomed the gathering. Arun Kumar, proposed vote of thanks.

Prema Gopal Achary was present on the occasion.
