Bangalore: Terror Threat Calls Flood IT Firms

DHNS

Bangalore, Jan 5: Terrorists seem to have yet again targeted the information technology companies in Bangalore.

Some unidentified persons have made calls and sent e-mails in the last few days, threatening to blow up a few IT companies, including Infosys and Wipro.

The mails and calls, coming close on the heels of the recent Mumbai terror attacks, have put the City police on high alert.

Prominent companies have received 15 threatening mails and calls.

There are hundreds of IT companies in the State which are one of the main sources of income to the exchequer.
The terrorists might have chosen these companies as their targets as the IT sector has transactions with a few western countries, including the US and UK. Sources also do not rule out mischief as the motive behind such calls.
The police beefed up security at important places in the State especially after the terror attack.

The police top brass held a meeting and discussed the nature of security to be given to the IT companies
