Puttur: Police Book Leaders for Blasphemy, Provocative Speech

Puttur, Jan 4: The Uppinangady police have booked K Mahalinga of Dalit Sangharsh Samiti, member of an organization Illyas Mohammed, G Rajashekhar from Udupi, Abdul Hamid Majestic and M R Rafique for delivering speeches that were found to be communally provocative, blasphemous and supportive of terrorist activities.

Speaking on the steps initiated by the policemen against the suspected terrorists, the speakers allegedly supported terrorism. The police claim, that the speeches delivered in respect of cow-slaughter were blasphemous while generally they were communally provocative. The police had video graphed the entire programme and recorded speeches of individual speakers.

Puttur rural circle inspector B K Majaiah is heading the investigation.
