Sullia: Youths should become Self-reliant - D V Sadanand Gowda

Sullia, Jan 4: A taluk-level youth fair was held at the Guttigar Higher Primary School on Saturday January 3.

The event was jointly organized by the department of youth services and sports department of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat, Sullia taluk panchayat (TP), Guttigar gram panchayat Yuvajana Samyukta Mandali, Veeramaruti Sports Club, Guttigar, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Yuvaka Mandala, Shankasri Mahila Mandala Volalambe and New Young Star Sports Club.

Speaking after inaugurating the fair, D V Sadanand Gowda, member of parliament said that the youth fairs must make an effort to make  the youth self reliant both mentally and physically. The fair is a platform available for the youngstrers to exhibit their power. When youths are consolidated and become powerful, the country becomes healthier and more vibrant, he opined.

Sullia MLA S Angara presided over the function.

TP president Shankar Peraje, TP member Mookambika, Guttigar gram panchayat president Lata Kumari, Puttaswamy, Sullia taluk panchayat executive officer, taluk panchayat,  Nityananda Mundody, Congress Party Sullia Block Committee  leader and A V Teertaram, president, Primay Agricultural Cooperative  Bank, participated as chief guests.

Kishore Kumar and Deviprasad Pambettady  compered the programme. Venkat Dambekodi welcomed the guests while, Vijesh proposed vote of thanks.

Devraj Mutlaje, sports officer, Taluk Yuvajana Seva Sangh, Hamid Idnoor, president, Yuvajana Samyukta Mandali, Vijaya Valtaje, president, New Young Star Sports and Satish Mukamale, president, Veeramaruti Sports Club, were present on the occasion.
