Mangalore: Fishing Boat Gets Stuck in Debris at Kotepura

Mangalore, Jan 1: A fishing boat was stuck in the debris of a boat that had sank previously in the Arabian Sea off Kotepura, near here, in the wee hours of Thursday January 1.




The privately-owned fishing boat named ‘Divine’, had ventured out for deep sea fishing with around 12 fishermen at 3.00 am on Thursday.  Those on board the boat were rescued by other fishermen in the vicinity.

The ravaging sea damaged the hull, engine room, and navigational instruments, of the fishing boat.

The fishing boat was untangled from the debris on Thursday afternoon.  The loss has been estimated at around Rs 4 lac.
