Mangalore: Freshers Day at Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy

Mangalore, Jan 1: Freshers Day of the 19th batch of Dr  M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy in the city was held at Lobo's River View on December 30, 2008.

The programme was presided by Dr M Ramgopal Shetty, founder secretary of Dr M V Shetty Memorail Trust. Trustee prof (Dr) Hima Urmila Shetty delivered the key note address. Guests of honour were Suryakant Adate, customs superintendent, Mumbai, M P George ,an engineer from Mumbai, Dr A Pitchaiah,  Dr MVST College of Physiotherapy principal, RGUHS Bangalore ex-senate member Dr Rajesh Kumar,  Dr MVST College of Physiotherapy associate professor Dr Susan Varghese and Dr Amit Sharma , assistant professor of the Physiotherapy college.

Prof (Dr) Hima Urmila Shetty emphasized on the importance of developing  a disabled-friendly environment, which will go a long way in helping the disabled become self dependent.
 
21 post graduates, 29 under graduate fresher students, more then 300 students and a few parents of the students attended the Freshers Day Ceremony. The freshers entertained the audience by bringing out their talents by presenting a small cultural programme.
