Udupi: Midnight Accident Claims Two Lives

Udupi, Jan 1: In a ghastly accident that occurred at around 12.45 am on the intervening night between December 31 and January 1, two motor-bike borne youth lost their lives.

After the motor bike in which they were travelling rammed into an ore-laden truck parked near the Karavali Circle on the bye pass road, pillion rider  Sridhar Bangera (27) from Kalmadi near Malpe and Dinesh Kotian (30) from Tottam who was riding the bike, died on the spot as soon as the new year dawned. Dinesh who runs a studio in Tottam and Sridhar, who recently came here from Dubai, were returning after taking part in the new year revelries, when tragedy truck.

In the recent past, ore trucks have resumed brisk movement  on the national highway, paving way for increased number of accidents, either by way crushing vehicles, rash driving, parking their trucks haphazardly or blocking the roads wherever they cannot go fast because of the pot holes.
