M'lore: Killer of George Paul Nabbed in Hubli Remanded to Judicial Custody

DCIB and Ullal police arrested Shane Aloysius Dimo alias Babu,for the murder of K George Paul, attendant of a city hospital and a resident of Suraksha Nagar, Kumpala, at Hubli and produced him in court on Monday December 29.

Paul was found murdered in his home on Sunday December 21. Dimo is said to be the husband of Hemavati alias Lilly, foster daughter of Paul. He allegedly murdered Paul by assaulting him with a piece of wood. The duo then fled the scene of the crime. 
 
Dimo was nabbed after a weeklong search and has been remanded to judicial custody till Monday January 12. 
 
Dimo is believed to have married Lilly around 10 months ago and was living with Paul at his house. Both Paul and Dimo used to fight almost every day as Paul was an alcoholic.

Dimo is of Anglo-Indian origin, speaks fluent English, and has passable knowledge of Kannada, Telugu, Tulu, and Hindi.

His father was a teacher who died when Dimo was a kid.  Dimo was booked for bootlegging in Tamil Nadu but has no cases registered against him in any police stations here.
 
He earned a living through odd jobs such as dishwashing in a restaurant, plastering, welding, and carpentry.  Dimo had also assisted the police in retrieving rotten corpses.  He fell in love with Lilly, while he was working as a welder at a nearby construction site.
 
The police team led by Panambur sub-division DySP Jayant V Shetty, city rural sub-inspector Lingappa Poojary and assistant sub-inspector Narayan Maniyani arrested Dimo. 
 
DCIB personnel Anand, Rama Poojary, Chandrashekar, Sunil, Girish, Iqbal, Rajendra, Raju K Nair, David, jeep driver Shiva Naik, Ullal assistant sub-inspector Mohan, Jagannat P, and Chandra, were also involved in the operation.
