Chikmagalur: Epoch-making ‘Pope Jagadgurugalu’ by Dr B S Talwadi Released

Chikmagalur, Dec 30:
‘Pope Jagadgurugalu’, a book authored by noted litterateur and writer Dr B S Talwadi, was released by Br Victor Crasta, principal, Infant Jesus School, in a simple ceremony held at Bala Yesu Nivas, on Sunday December 28.  It is the 84th book authored by Dr Talwadi.
 
The function was presided over by Fr David Prakash, rector of St Joseph’s minor seminary and editor of ‘Sneha Jyothi’ monthly journal. 
 


Journalist, poet, and writer, popularly known as Ashuntha Pereira Gantalkatte, inaugurated the website www.bstalwadi.com on the same occasion.
 
Fr Prakash in his presidential address said that the book ‘Pope Jagadgurugalu’, is the only book available in Indian languages about the Popes. The book narrates the history and life of 264 popes of the Catholic Church beginning with St Peter to the current Pope Benedict XVI. 
 
Bro Crasta said that the book is a special gift to Kannada literature. Dr Talwadi thanked everybody and expressed his gratitude for the help rendered in bringing out such a great work.
 
Bro Crasta welcomed the gathering while Girish K compered the programme.
