Mangalore, Dec 28: The 13th annual ‘Sarvajanika Satyanarayana Puja’ was held at Dharma Vedike near Kala Kunj, Kodialbail, on Saturday December 27. The event was jointly organized by the Sarvajanika Satyanarayana Puja Samiti and Kodialbail Friends Circle.

Delivering the benedictory speech on the occasion Sri Charukeerti Swamiji, Sri Jain Math, said that the story of Lord Satyanarayana must be heard by every Hindu in their lifetime. It destroys internal jealousy and anger. The recitation of the story by Balakrishna Bhat, priest, carried away one’s soul from the present situation to a world of peace, said the Swamiji.

We must adopt some simple good quality like forgiveness, which will later help us reach our goal. One must read the ‘puranas’ written in ancient Kannada language to know the importance of Hindu religion, he said.

The Satyanarayana Puja is thought to be one of the best. Everyone desires good employment, peace, education, wealth, and happiness, and participating in this puja helps to gain it, said Swamiji.

Sundar Shetty, Golden Falcon Organization, Suresh Bhandary, chairman, Manifold Credit Society, Mumbai, and Kishore D Shetty, owner, Leeds Group, Balakrishna Bhandary, Bhagirata Chemicals, Mumbai, Narayan Shetty, businessman, participated as the chief guests. 

Shrimati Rao delivered the religious speech on the occasion. Sudhakar Pejawar compered the programme. Poovamma, athlete, Vishala B K, Agnes College, and Shashikala, weightlifter, were felicitated for their achievements on the occasion. Later, Tulu drama ‘Eduruddh Onji Piravuddh Onji’ by Lakumi team was also staged.
