Mangalore, Dec 27: Dr Jayaprakash Shetty K, professor of pathology in K S Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) and its registrar, has been elected as the president of the Dakshina Kannada unit of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists for the year 2008-09. The unit comprises of Dakshina Kannnada, Udupi and Kasargod districts.
Dr Shetty is backed by more than 13 years of experience in the field of teaching in medical profession. He is also involved with administrative activities since the last several years.
Dr Jayaprakash Shetty had also served as the secretary of the Dakshina Kannada district branch of the Indian Medical Association in the past. In addition, he is an active Rotarian.
