Mangalore, Dec 27: Giddashiva Gowda (50) from Kumta got permanent relief from the abdomen pain he had been suffering from since the last 15 years, after the doctors of the Derlakatte K S Hegde Hospital surgically removed a huge kidney stone weighing 420 grams.
A team of surgeons led by eurologist Dr Rajiv T P assisted by Dr Sneha Nayak and Dr Anand Bangera succeeded in removing the stone after conducting nephrolithotomy on Gowda for over three hours. The doctors said, that these large-sized kidney stones cover the entire space in the kidney, due to which the patients suffer a lot.
