Mangalore, Dec 25:
The journal ‘Compassionate Pastor’, chronicling the devout life led by Monsignor Raymond Mascarenhas, was released by Fr Denis Moras Prabhu, diocesan vicar general, on Tuesday December 23.

The Monsignor was a true servant of God and this is evident through his founding the Bethany Congregation and building the St Sebastian church at Bendore. Although Monsignor Mascarenhas passed away 48 years ago, his worthy deeds still live among the faithful, said Fr Moras in his homily during the Eucharistic Mass held on Tuesday morning.

Bethany Congregation superior Sr Jyoti inaugurated the website www.bethanymangalore.org and thanked Sr Wilberta, Sr Lillys, and Sr Miriam, for their support in developing the website.

Bendore St Sebastian parish priest Fr Peter Noronha, retired priest Fr Henry Castelino, Fatima Retreat House director Fr Rony Prabhu SJ, Bendore assistant parish priests Fr Vincent and Fr Naveen, were the co-celebrants of the Eucharistic Mass.

Around 500 faithful were present on the occasion. Sr Jessy Rita composed a hymn that was sung during the release of the journal.
