Mangalore, Dec 24: Investigators from the city, looking into the murder of K George Paul, KMC employee and resident of Kumpala, have left for Ankola to unearth information on prime suspect Hema.

Hema alias Lilly, the longtime mistress of the deceased, is suspected of having a hand in the gruesome crime in connivance with her husband Babu, both residents of Ankola in Uttara Karnataka.

Paul was found brutally murdered in his house on Sunday December 21 by police who were summoned by suspicious neighbours.  It is said that Paul had been living with his mistress Hema for about seven years, soon after his wife and son separated from him and began living elsewhere in the city.  Paul was addicted to his drink and initially allowed Babu into his house and later denied him entry.

The neighbours allegedly heard a heated argument at Paul’s house on the night of Saturday December 20 that could have led to the murder. Both Hema and Babu are reportedly missing since then.
