Mangalore, Dec 21: Activists of Sri Rama Sene disrupted an fashion show in a city hotel on the night of Saturday December 20. They alleged that the local youth are led astray by the dance shows and parties thrown by students of various colleges where drinking sprees  add to their frenzy.

The venue turned tense after the incident leaving the organizers worried over the safety of participants and viewers. However, city police arrived on the scene and managed to control the situation.

Sri Rama Sene activists had disrupted a fashion show in a mall in a similar manner, last year

A few days back as we have read in the daily news papers, a young man was brutally killed by a crazy man using blade near Lady Goeshen Hospital. He also injured another two persons and then escaped just like that and no one had the guts to catch him. I wonder where are these vigilantes who belong to the so called senas doing? They only are good at stopping fashion shows and/or interfering in others personal matters like a boy takes a girl to a restaurant for tea or a nun and a girl standing at a bus stand talking and these groups appear from nowhere and start all inquiries about their religion, their background, their relationship etc.

Hope Students of Mangalore understand that democracy is no more in our country. Hope People of motherland understand were we are leading. Very soon wont be any freedom in society. (how can few people decide what we must do or not do ?) we are an independent country  and we have equal rights to do things under Indian law. Dear students , you are the young generation of India you can change future of country please believe in unity, don't support communal group, enjoy your life with love and freedom, join social clubs and not communal group, Jai Bharath.

No one should be allowed to take law into his/her own hands. India is a democractic country. Why do not these activists reserve their energy to solve pressing issues like poverty, casteism ,bad infrastructure etc.

There are lots of sleazy movies coming out in India. Why these moral policing is not enforced rules for movies also. They don’t dare because producers will teach them the lesson. These moral police only target poor & depressed section.

If Hindi film stars participated in this fashion show, any Sena members would not have the guts to disrupt it.  At the same time if it is only fashion show it is fine. But drinking spree parties with fashion show is really not our culture and organisers should take precaution.

I am not sure if democracy is already dead or slowly dying in India. A small minority decides on what is good or bad for the entire population. The day is not far when one may have to ask them with whom you should marry, what clothes one should wear, what faith you should follow or what food one should eat.

I think this rise of moral policing in undivided D.K will not augur well for the growth of this city.Mature, sane people do not need moral policing as moral policing is curbing an indivisual's freedom. Unfortunately rise of right wing politics is to be blamed for this and its worth noticing that activists tend to have the blessing of the local politicians.
