Puttur: ‘Tulu Sele’ in High Schools Soon—Dr Achar

The ‘Tulu Ayano’ was held at government higher primary school, Kumbra, on Saturday December 20.
 
The event was organized by Puttur Tulu Koota.
 
Presiding over the function, Dr Paltady Ramakrishna Achar, president, State Tulu Academy, said that ‘Tulu Sele’ programme must be conducted in every college of Dakshina Kannada district to create awareness among the new generation and to promote the richness of Tulu language, culture, and literature.
 
Tulu Sele will be introduced in the high schools in the coming days. The programme will provide an opportunity to conduct cultural activities, he said.
 
Kumbra Raghunath Rai, producer of Tulu and  Kannada films, inaugurated the programme.
 
Adyaru Guttu Mahabala Shetty, president, Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkuta, participated as the chief guest.
 
Prakashchandra Rai Kaikara, president, gram panchayat, Olamogru, inaugurated the procession.
 
Durgaprasad Kumbra, president, Tulu Koota, Puttur, welcomed the gathering. Vijayakumar Bhandary Hebbarabail, proposed the vote of thanks. Prof B J Suvarna compered the programme.
 
Later, a Tulu poets meet was held under the presidentship of Kuthpady Vishwanath Rai.
