Udupi: Varsity Publicity Lecture Held at Madhav Pai Memorial College

The third series of publicity lectures by Mangalore University’s department of mass communication and journalism was held at Madhav Pai Memorial College, Manipal, near here, on Friday December 19.
 
Besant College head of department of history Dr Savitri K, while delivering the lecture on Friday evening, said that terrorism threatens the Naxal movement that was witnessed across Malnad and coastal district.  Naxals should not be lured by terrorists groups and should instead try legal means in their struggle for equality in society by surrendering their arms.  In the globalization era, protests can be effectively staged through mass media, as mega industries threaten the livelihood of masses in the country, she said.
 


Madhav Pai Memorial College trustee G A Rego was the chief guest on the occasion. 

Madhav Pai Memorial College principal professor P Dayanand Shetty presided over the programme.
 
Mangalore University mass communications director Dr Sripati Kalluraya delivered the introductory address. Raghavendra Tunga welcomed the gathering while Prakash Bhat compered the programme.
