Udupi: District Working Journalists’ Association Decennial Celebrations on Dec 28

Udupi, Dec 21:
The decennial celebrations of the District Working Journalists’ Association will be held on Sunday December 28 at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) College Ravindra Mantap.
 
A day-long programme will be held including an exhibition of photographs, news photo clips, investigative journalism, workshop on composing news in media, screening of award winning movies, and a release of bulletin.
 
A display of photographs of well-known photo journalist Keshav Vittal will be held at 9.30 am on the same day as well as a display of cartoons of veteran cartoonist Prakash Shetty. MGM College principal professor Dr Jayaprakash Mavinakuli will inaugurate the decennial celebrations while ‘Vikranta Karnataka’ editor and veteran journalist Ravindra Reshme, will deliver a lecture on investigative journalism at 10.15 am. Suvarna News channel news editor Jayaprakash Shetty Bitrala will conduct a workshop on composing news for visual media at 11.15 am.
 
Award-winning Kannada movie ‘Beladingala’, will be screened at 1.15 pm. Kannada movie directors Lingadeva, script writer Udaya Marakini, and other cine stars will attend the programme.
 
Eminent director and stage artiste B Suresh will be the chief guest of the stage programme, to be held at 4.30 pm.
 
Karnataka Working Journalists’ Association president H N Sudhindrakumar will grace the occasion.  Association district president Dinesh Kini will preside over the programme.  Decennial bulletin ‘Abhivyakti’ will be released and association former president Damodar Aithal will felicitate Udayavani editor N Gururaj. 
 
Journalism enthusiasts and students can attend the screening of movie and the workshop, free of cost, stated their press release.
