Udupi: PUC Toppers Felicitated by Government College Lecturers

Udupi, Dec 20: An educational workshop and prize distribution programme was held on Friday December 19 at the Government Pre-university College. It was organized by the district unit of Karnataka Pre-university College Lecturers’ Association, under the aegis of the district pre-university education department.

MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, after inaugurating the programme, said that teachers have the responsibility of creating worthy citizens. Teachers should motivate the students by imparting quality education and instilling patriotism, so that they lead better lives in society, he said. Teachers should identify the talents of students and encourage them within the limits of the syllabus, he added.

Prizes were distributed to the toppers of the II PUC examinations held during April 2008 in arts, commerce, and science streams, of the government pre-university colleges across the district. 

Karnataka Government Pre-university Lecturers’ Association president Srirama, district college principals’ association president professor M R Keshavamurti, and convener Suresh Tunga, were present on the dais.

Government Pre-university Lecturers’ Association district president A Prasad Shastry presided over the programme. Pre-university education department B Ningayya welcomed the gathering and M Basavaraj compered the programme.
