Udupi: Container Truck Rams into Car - One Critical

Udupi, Dec 19: The driver of a car was critically injured after his vehicle was rammed by a container truck at Shivanagar, near Hejamady, on national highway 17 on Friday December 19. 

The critically wounded driver has been identified as Raju Mathai (38), a native of Kerala, who was at the wheel of the car. Reckless overtaking by the driver of the truck led to the accident. The car has been totally damaged, while Mathai has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore. 

Padubidri police arrested truck driver Venkataramana (25), a resident of Puttur and booked a case.
