Mangalore, Dec 18: The Christmas programme for the physically-challenged was held at Cheshire Home, Kankanady, on Wednesday December 17. The event was organized by the Ladies Service Social League.

Chief guest Dr Prabha Adhikari, professor, Kasturba Medical College, Attavar, in her Christmas message said peace and love can prevail in society only through righteous deeds. She also praised the Home for looking after the disabled.

Dr Fr Alfred Ryan D’Souza said the Christmas celebration should not be an external show, instead one should be aware of the Christmas message. The meaning of the word Christmas is ‘God With Us’. Jesus Christ should be an inspiration to life, he said.

Wilma Aranha, chairperson of the league, and Sr Elizabeth were present on the occasion. Cultural programmes were also held by the inmates of the Cheshire Home. Phenyl, soap, and other products, manufactured by them were also put on display at the Home.
