Mangalore: Nellu's 'Bokro' Attracts Packed Audience at Permannur

Mangalore, Dec 15: CLC Permannur, celebrating its 32nd anniversary, staged Nellu Permannur's hit play of the year 'Bokro' in aid of St Sebastian Pre-University new College building on Sunday December 14, 2008 at the Permannur open grounds

A record 1500 crowd witnessed the hilarious play with superb acting performance by young and veteran actors.

A brief felicitation programme was organized prior to the play. Fr Thomas D'Souza, parish priest of Permannur church, Fr Clement Mascarenhas, pricncipal of St Sebastian PU college, Fr Victor D'Souza, assistant parish priest, Walter Nandalike, Editor-in-Chief of www.daijiworld.com, Harry Tellis, vice-president, Joseph D'Souza, secretary, CLC president Sunil Veigas and CLC secretary Urban Appos were the guests for the day.

Rs 1, 01,010 collected from the show was donated to the new building. CLC president handed over the cheque to Fr Clement.
































Walter Nandalike was honoured with the shawl and fruits for his contribution to the media, and Nellu's Asal Kalakar troupe was also felicitated. Young, up-and-coming talent Master Shawn Rodrigues received honour on behalf of Asal Kalakar. Fr Clement draped Shawn with shawl and presented fruits to him.

Melwyn C D'Souza compered the programme.

'Bokro' was staged for the fourth successive time. The comedy play has been written by Nellu Permannur who has recently been selected for the prestigious 'Daiji Dubai Best Young Talent' award. The play has been directed by Felix Monteiro.

'Bokro' will be staged at Panir on December 24, at Vamanjur on December 25, at Kinnigoli on December 27 and on Sunday January 11, 2009 at Bajal.
