Mangalore: ‘Crime Prevention Meet’ Organized in Baikampady

Mangalore, Dec 15: A ‘Crime Prevention Meet’ was held at the Small Scale Association in Bykampady recently. It was jointly organized by the Kanara Small Industries Association (KSIA) and Panamboor police station.

Speaking on the occasion, Dilip Kumar, additional superintendent of police, Dakshina Kannada district, said that with the support of residents, the department is ready to appoint two to three community police in the area of Bykampady.

The details of industrial workers must be collected at the time of appointment. Illegal ‘U’ turn by lorries on the national highway must be restricted, he said.

Lorries spilling urea, damage the roads, selling liquor illegally near Kudumbooru residential colonies, issue of gamblers and other matters were discussed at the meet.

S S Shettigar, industrialist, K V Prabhu, Hemant Kumar, K Pushparaj Shetty, president, Kudumbooru Residential Colony, spoke on various societal problems.

Jayanta V Shetty, deputy superintendent of police, sub-division Panamboor, K Jayaraj Pai, president, KSIA, Pramod Kumar, sub-inspector, Panamboor,  and B A Nazeer, were present on the occasion. M J Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
