Mangalore, Dec 10: ‘Taal’, an inter-club variety entertainment competition will be held at Bejai Church Hall on Saturday December 13 at 1.30 pm.

Mohan Kamath, district governor, Lions Club, and Geeta Kamath, will inaugurate the programme. The contest categories will include singing, classical/ folk dance, skits, mono act, and mimicry. However, film dances will not be permitted, said Uma K, convener, cultural and community committee activities, Lions Club, at a press conference held on Wednesday December 10.

Entry is free for members of the club and each club will be allotted 15 minutes to present their performance, she added. Around 25 clubs will participate in the competition and 24 prizes have been announced to encourage participation from more children, said Uma.

The Lions, Lioness, Cub and Leo Clubs, from Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, and Chikmagalur districts will participate in the competition. Padmini Prashant Rao, district president, cultural activities, Lioness Club, was present at the press conference.
