Mangalore: City Police Nab Two Inter-state Fraudsters for Forgery

Mangalore, Dec 6: Two people were arrested at Valencia in the city on Friday December 5, in connection with the forgery of demand drafts (DD).

A team led by police sub-inspector Tilakchandra, conducted the arrests. Ravikumar (44) and Venkateshwar Rao (39), both hail from Andhra Pradesh. The duo are believed to be inter-state fraudsters, booked for similar crimes in Warangal, Nizamabad, and Vijayawada, in Andhra Pradesh, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, and Nagpur in Maharashtra, where they are also believed to have procured automobiles and a laptop with the help of forged demand drafts.  

Police have recovered from them forged demand drafts of various banks, rubber stamps, and a typewriter, used in the crimes. Police also recovered a stethoscope from Ravi Kumar who was found impersonating a doctor. 

The police personnel S Ramakrishna, Sitaram, Umesh Hosalike, Mani M N, Satish, Venkatesh and Santosh, were involved in the operation.
