Udupi: Temporary Relocation of City Bus Stand Catches Commuters Off Guard

Udupi, Dec 6:
Commuters were inconvenienced on the morning of Friday December 5, as the municipal authority shifted the city bus stand to the existing service bus stand, without any prior notice about the move.

This has been done to facilitate the work on the road running parallel to the city bus stand, which is expected to take over a month. A meeting of both service and city bus owners’ associations was held at the municipal auditorium on Thursday December 4, to decide on the temporary shift.

The city bus operators’ association and agents opposed the municipal move to shift the existing city bus stand alleging that the service bus stand would be jam packed with express and city buses, putting strain on the parking facility and traffic police, besides  inconveniencing the passengers.
