Mangalore: VCD Release of Beary Film ‘Maami Marmol’ on Dec 7

Mangalore, Dec 6: The video compact disc (VCD) of the maiden Beary video film ‘Maami Marmol’, presented by Sony Enterprises, will be released at the Town Hall on Sunday December 7.

J Krishna Palemar, district-in-charge minister, will release the VCD while A Sadananda Shetty, president, Sri Devi Educational Trust, will receive the first copy. B Nagaraj Shetty, president, Coastal Development Authority, will inaugurate the programme. 

MLA U T Khader, enterprenuer Muhammad Ali Abbas, M B Abdurrahman, president, Kendra Byari Sahithya Parishat, Ganesh Rao, founder, Group of Karavali Colleges, and police inspector Anasuya will be the chief guests. PCM Kunhi, registrar, Yenepoya Medical College, will preside over the function, said Rahim Ucchil, director of the movie.

Addressing media persons at the Press Club, he said that national award winning film director Anand P Raju and advocate S Ravindra Prasad, will also participate in the programme as special invitees. MLA Yogish Bhat and Dr Mohan Alva will be honoured on the occasion, he added.

“The film was shot in Attavar, Someshwara, Tannirbhavi, Saletthur, Bunder, Maripalla, Varkadi, and surrounding areas of the district. We invested Rs 6 lac in the film. It will be recovered soon”, he said.

Ucchil opined that the film will bring reform in society, especially in the Beary community. Producer B S Ganghadar, assistant director Prakash Padubidri, and actor Sujnesh, were present at the press meet.
