Kundapur: Milk Price Increase Will Help Motivate Production - Union

Kundapur, Dec 5: The inaugural of the stock department and accumulation godown of the Hikadi Milk Producers’ Women’s Co-operative Society, was held on Thursday December 4.

Speaking on the occasion, Kaup Divakar Shetty, president, Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union, said that the government should encourage milk producers by increasing the price of milk in Dakshina Kannada district.

Milk production by the union is nearing danger levels. The women working in the industry must insist that the government give importance to milk production, he said. K Gulabi Shetty, donor, inaugurated the newly-constructed ‘Shwetamruta’.

Somashekara Shetty S, director, Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union, Manjayya Shetty, Gopalakrishna Kamath, B Shankar, assistant manager of the union, Malati Shetty, member, Taluk Panchayat, Pramod Hegde, president, gram panchayat, Avarse and Dr Krishnamurthy, vice-president, felicitated  K Gulabi Shetty, land donor, on the occasion.

Sudhakar, extension official, Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union, compered the programme. Veena S Naik, president, Milk Producers’ Women’s Co-operative Society, welcomed the gathering. Geeta proposed the vote of thanks.
