Mangalore: Yakshagana Saptotsava at Tokkottu

Mangalore, Dec 5: The Yakshagana 'Devimahatme Saptotsava’, was inaugurated at Chandappa Hall of Tokkottu here recently. It was organized by Shri Chirumba Bhagavati Kripashrita Yakshagana Mandali of Shri Chirumba Bhagavati Kshetra, Ullal.

Bhaskar Devasya, director, Poweron Electro Engineering Pvt Ltd , in his inaugural address, said that even under the present difficult circumstances, Kripashrita Yakshagana Mandali is trying its best to maintain high  quality and interest towards the growth of this folk art in spite of a marked decline in public interest. The work put in by the members of the managing committee and artistes are praiseworthy, he noted.

Chandrahas Ullal, president, Shri Chirumba Bhagavati Tiya Samaj Seva Sangh, presided over the function.

Shekar Bhatnagar, president, Bhagavati Kshetra, Madoor, Madhava Talapady, trustee, Shri Chirumba Bhagavati Kshetra, Damodar Ullal and K T Gujaran, operator of the  Mela, participated on the occasion.

Yashwant Uchil, treasurer of Shri Chirumba Bhagavati Tiya Samaj Seva Sangh delivered the key note address.

Arun Ullal coordinated the programme. Sanjeev Ullal proposed vote of thanks.
