Mangalore, Dec 4: The second edition of 'The Hindu Young World Fest 2008', will be held at Town Hall here on Thursday December 4 and the next day. The Fest is being organized by 'The Hindu' in association with Corporation Bank.

As part of the Fest, seven events including group dance in Indian classical, Indian filmy/ western and Indian folk category, flower arrangement, debate, cartooning and Rangoli competitions will be conducted for the fifth to tenth standard students.

Preliminary rounds for the three categories of the group dance forms will be held on Thursday December 4.

The six teams selected from each of the three dance forms will enter the finals in addition to other competitions on Friday December 5.

Experts and eminent personalities from relevant fields will judge the performances.

Over 800 students from various schools from eight districts of Karnataka and two districts of Kerala will participate in the event.

Students from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Dharwad, Belgaum, Kodagu, Chikmaglur Shimoga districts of Karnataka in addition to Kannur and Kasargod districts of Kerala will participate in the cultural extravaganza, a release from ‘The Hindu’ said.
