Mangalore: 'National Pharmacy Week 2008' Concludes in City

Mangalore, Dec 4: The 'National Pharmacy Week 2008', held at Hotel Srinivas auditorium here, concluded on Tuesday December 2.

The week was organized by Srinivas Pharmacy College, in association with the South Kanara District Chemists and Druggists Association (SKDC and DA), Association of Community Pharmacists of India and Nodal Centre.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Ramanat Rai said that the responsibilities of the drug manufacturers, exporters and retailers are on par with those of the doctors who prescribe their products.

The number of druggists and manufacturers has increased in the district in the recent past. Growth of this sector is very important for the improvement of health services, he noted.

Shridhar Kamat, president, Dakshina Kannada District Chemists and Druggists Association, Raghavendra Rao, managing trustee of Srinivas Pharmacy College, Srinivas Rao, vice-president, Prof Shabaraya and others were present.
