Mangalore: BSNL Employees to Protest Demanding Better Pay

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (RD/CN)

Mangalore, Dec 4: The employees of BSNL are to stage a protest in front of the office of Dakshina Kannada district telecom general manager and at the Udupi telecom office, on Friday December 5.

This is in response to a call given by the BSNL employees’ union led by V A Namboodiri, aimed at getting the authorities to fulfill the various demands of the employees. These include revising pay scales, awarding mid-term benefits, eliminating disparities of salaries among officers and general employees, said Venugopal, district secretary, on Wednesday December 3.

He cautioned that the union plans to stage an aggravated protest on Thursday December 11 and Friday December 12, if the administration fails to meet their demands.
