Moodbidri, Nov, 30: The seminar ‘Modern Literature - A New Experience’, was held at Alvas Nudisiri of Alvas College on Saturday November 29.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Aravind Malagatti, Dalit litterateur, said that declaring a single book as a national work, will enrich the status of Kannada literature at the national- level.

Though the Kannada language has received 55 Kendra Sahitya Academy Awards and seven Jnanapeeth awards, it cannot be considered a strength on the whole. The strength of Kannada language is known when comparing it to other languages, he said.

A study should be conducted to measure the influence of Kannada literature on other languages. Dr Kolhara Kulakarni also submitted an essay on ‘Heritage, Types, and onfrontation’.
